Founded in 1989 by Ni Emmanuel Tepi, Sawyer Camp Farmers CIG was born out of a vision to empower rural communities through sustainable agriculture. With a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics, Ni Emmanuel recognized the transformative power of education, collaboration, and resource access in uplifting local farmers.
To empower local farmers with sustainable agricultural practices that drive economic growth, ensure food security, and preserve the environment for future generations.
To be a leading model of community-driven, sustainable agriculture in Cameroon, creating a thriving and resilient rural economy where both people and nature flourish.
Farmers in our home of Banga Bakundu face a complex web of challenges. Destructive, fire-based land clearing depletes soil nutrients and destroys neighboring farms. Regional insecurity has displaced hundreds, disrupting planting cycles and forcing the abandonment of farmland. A critical scarcity of viable farmland, coupled with a lack of access to financing for modern tools, traps farmers in a cycle of low yields and high risk. Poor roads and storage facilities lead to significant post-harvest losses, while climate change makes rain-fed agriculture increasingly precarious.
Instead of standing by, we took action. As a united community-based organization, Sawyer Camp Farmers CIG confronts these challenges head-on, equipping farmers with the tools and knowledge to adapt, grow, and build a resilient future.
Today, Sawyer Camp Farmers CIG is a thriving collective of dedicated farmers. We are leaders in sustainable agriculture, driving economic prosperity while preserving our environment.

We believe in the power of collaboration and mutual support to achieve collective success.
We operate with transparency and accountability in all our interactions.
We are committed to farming practices that protect our planet for future generations.
